How to Make Easy Beer Cheese Fondue

Beer Cheese Fondue Ingredients

Beer Cheese Fondue only calls for 4 ingredients making it a simple appetizer or snack to make. You also probably already have most of the ingredients on hand. For this recipe you will need:

  • chopped garlic
  • beer, any lager will work
  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • flour

If you would like to make this fondue spicy try adding some hot sauce, red pepper flakes or black pepper.

What kind of cheese to use for fondue?

While almost any kind of cheese can be used to make fondue for this recipe we used sharp cheddar cheese. We bought pre shredded cheese from the grocery store to help save on time. Swiss cheese is a very popular cheese to use for fondue but I have not tested it with beer. If you try it please let us know in the comments.

An Easy Cheese Fondue to Make

The first thing you will need to make this dip is a fondue pot. I have not personally attempted to make this on the stove however, I am sure you could as long as you have something to keep it warm in afterwards.

Step One: Cook the garlic

Heat the fondue pot over low heat and add the garlic. Cook about two minutes or until fragrant.

Step Two: Add the beer and prep the cheese

Next, slowly and carefully pour in the beer. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. You may want to increase the heat a little to speed this up. While you are waiting for the beer to simmer, combine the cheese and flour in a bowl and toss to coat.

Step Three: Slowly add cheese

Finally, slowly add the cheese a little at a time stirring constantly to melt. A whisk will work really well for this step. Once all of the cheese is added your fondue dip is ready to serve. Adjust the heat as necessary to keep the dip from burning or getting to hard to dip.
