How to Make Gluten Free Oreo Pie Crust

This easy oreo pie crust recipe not only has just 2 ingredients but it is quick to make as well.

    Step One: Melt butter

First, melt the butter in a small microwavable dish.

    Step Two: Crush oreos

Then, place the whole Oreo cookies in a food processor. Run the food processor until you have small crumbs of Oreos. You don’t want it to be a powder.

If you don’t have a food processor, place the Oreos in a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to smash the Oreos into fine crumbs. Be sure they are evenly crushed so that the pie crust is easy to press into the pie plate.

Step Three: Combine butter and oreos

Next, add the butter to the Oreo crumbs and pulse again to combine well. Test the mixture with your fingers. It should press together easily when squeezed between your fingers. If it doesn’t and is too dry add another tablespoon of melted butter.

Step Four: Press into pie dish

Once the mixture is ready, pour it into a pie dish. Then, using the backside of a spoon push the crumbs into an even layer along the bottom and sides of the dish. Don’t worry about it being too perfect.

Step Five: Bake crust and add filling

Now, you need to determine if you are making a no bake pie or a baked pie. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. If you are making a no bake pie filling, then you will bake the pie crust for 10-12 minutes or until well set. Be sure to let the baked crust cool completely before adding your no bake filling. If you are baking the pie with the filling you will only need to bake the pie for 5 minutes before adding the filling and continuing to bake.

Can I make gluten free oreo crust ahead of time?

Yes! Once the crust is baked, wrap the pie plate in plastic wrap. Store at room temperature for up to 2 days. Do not store in the refrigerator before finishing the pie otherwise you will not have a crunchy oreo crust.

My pie recipe calls for a springform pan, can I still use this recipe?

Absolutely, make the crust as described in the recipe card and then press into the springform pan either only on the bottom or up the sides as well depending on what the recipe calls for. This recipe can be used in a 9-inch pie plate, 8×8 square pan or a springform pan.

Can I make this recipe with other flavor Oreos?

You can, however the gluten free Oreos only come in the traditional flavor. Do not use the double stuffed Oreos for this recipe. The extra cream filling does not yield the same results. If you do not need the crust to be gluten free you can use any of the regular Oreos to make this crust. Options include: golden Oreos, mint Oreos, peanut butter Oreos, etc. Be sure that the mixture sticks together well before placing into the pie plate. If it is too dry, add more butter. If it is too wet, add more Oreos.
