How to make Homemade Slice and Bake Sugar Cookies

This dough will need to be chilled before it can be used. First, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy using a hand mixer or stand mixer. Next, add eggs and vanilla and mix until combined. Add flour, baking powder and salt and mix well. Take dough out of bowl and shape into a log. Wrap log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Other ways to use this dough

This dough can also be used to make a cookie pizza by rolling it into a large circle. Also, you can roll the dough and cut it into shapes. Either way be sure to keep the dough cold so that the shapes stay when they are baked!
